How Batting Grades Work

Every delivery is graded across 5 dimensions. Each dimension produces a 0–100 score adjusted for match context, opposition quality, and phase. The overall grade is a weighted composite of all dimensions.

SREStrike Rate Efficiency

Scoring rate relative to match context — phase, pitch, and opposition bowling quality. Scoring faster than expected scores higher.

BAIBoundary Aggression Index

Proportion and quality of boundaries hit. Boundaries in pressure moments and against quality bowling are weighted more.

DBRDot Ball Resistance

Ability to avoid dot balls. Adjusted for bowling quality — rotating strike against elite death bowling scores higher than against part-timers.

PCPhase Contribution

Contribution across powerplay, middle overs, and death. Rewards batters who perform in the phase their team needs most.

DQDecision Quality

Shot selection and risk management. Penalises false shots and poor dismissals, rewards controlled aggression.
